Kids Bible Lesson 6 - Isaac Is Born
Week 6 the girls learned about Abraham and Sarah’s anticipated promise of baby Isaac.
After waiting for God's promise, Isaac was miraculously born to Abraham and Sarah in their old age. Have fun learning about this beautiful story of God's love!

Children's bible lesson about Isaac - Key Concepts
The key concepts that we focused on this week are:

God kept his promise.

Sometimes we have to wait on God.

God loves us and wants us to be happy.
You can also come up with your own key concepts.
Bible Verse for kids
The Bible verse for this lesson is Genesis 21:1 “And the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised”.
This Bible verse should be simple enough for your toddler to memorize after a week of practice.
Bible Story Tips

We read the story “Isaac is Born” beginning on page 11 of the children's Bible Storybook called Bible-Time Stories and Rhymes.

During story, draw attention to the key concepts for this lesson.

Don't forget to ask questions related to the story, for example, “What did God promise Abraham and Sarah?”

We taught our daughters that sometimes we have to wait on God, but we can be sure that he will always do what he says.

After the Bible story and discussion session, we stand up and do the interactive rhyme found in the Bible storybook.
Prayer
After the story and rhyme, we say a prayer that is related to the Bible story. You can either have your children repeat after you or allow them to come up with their own prayer.

We cast the song from YouTube to the television, so our children can see the motions on the big screen.

Isaac is born coloring Page
While our daughters colored the Isaac Bible Coloring Page, we reminded them how happy Abraham and Sarah were to have Isaac.
hearts filled with joy bible Craft
During this Bible craft, we told the girls that Abraham and Sarah’s hearts was filled with joy when Isaac was born.
The girls did a great job weaving the yarn in and out of the holes. And once finished, they happily hung the craft on the door knob in their rooms.
- This is a great activity to practice dexterity.
- The Bible craft can be made by cutting a red felt or foam sheet (for durability) into a heart shape.
- Using a hole punch, punch holes all around the the heart.

Patient Planting Bible Activity
During this activity we explained to the girls that sometimes we have to wait on God. Abraham and Sarah did not know when God’s promise would happen, but they faithfully waited on God.

- We all had a blast planting seeds for the garden! I can’t wait for the girls to see the fruits of their labor beginning to blossom.

A Parent's Love Bible activity
As parents we can remember how happy we were when we first saw our beautiful bundle of joy. We can only imagine how happy Abraham and Sarah were to hold Isaac after having to wait so many years
For this activity we pulled out all the pictures we have of the girls from birth until present. They thought it was so great to see themselves as babies and how much they’ve grown.
- We told the girls how happy we are that God blessed us with them, and God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Abraham and Sarah had to patiently wait for God to fulfill his promise.
Baby Footprints Bible craft
We talked to the girls about how the birth of Isaac was miraculous because of Abraham and Sarah’s old age.
The girls had fun making making baby footprints with paint, using the Baby Footprints Bible Craft.
God’s Love Bible Activity
What a perfect way to end the week of this great story – talking about God’s love for us.
The girls did a great job tracing the great messages about God’s love, while practicing their writing skills, using the God’s Love Bible Activity.
- We reminded our girls that God always keeps his promises.
For this Bible activity about Isaac, the girls had a great time with their friends baking cookies. Baking is a fun activity to demonstrate what it means to patiently wait for a tasty reward.
- While the cookies were baking, we talked about what patience is and how it can sometimes be difficult to wait for things.
- We reminded our children that waiting patiently on God can end with a great reward.
