Daily Bible Verse About Honoring Jesus - Bible Time - Bible Verses
Matthew 21:13
And said unto them, it is written, my house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Key Thought
After Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, he went to the temple where he saw the money changers and the merchants at their tables selling sacrifices. They were taking advantage of the people’s desire to seek forgiveness by selling animals and other sacrificial elements at high prices.
This made Jesus angry because he knew that he would soon be the sacrificial lamb for the sins of others and not for a profit, but because of his great love for us. Jesus overturned the tables and sent the money changers and the merchants out of the temple. He reminded them that his house is a house of prayer and not a den of thieves.
We have to remember that God’s house is to be a house of prayer, a house of worship. Let’s not forget the meaning and purpose of his temple.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to honor and worship you in spirit and in truth. Help me to honor you and your temple and to never forget your sacrifice. Amen.
